Dr. Ben Albert

Ben Albert, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in both the non-surgical and surgical treatment of hip and knee pain at Scottsdale Hip and Knee in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Albert is known for taking his time with each patient because he really enjoys getting to know them and developing personalized treatment plans for them. Many of his patients have great pain relief with nonsurgical treatment plans. When patients fail nonsurgical treatment, Dr. Albert can offer robotic hip and knee replacements done with minimally invasive surgical techniques for great results. Dr. Albert considers it a privilege to help his patients overcome their painful hips and knees so that they can get back to the activities they enjoy most in life.

Dr. Albert was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, where he double-majored in biology and psychology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He received extensive training in all aspects of orthopedic surgery during a residency at the only Level 1 trauma hospital in the state at the University of Mississippi of Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in hip and knee replacements at the Hedley Adult Reconstruction Fellowship here in Scottsdale, Arizona.   He is in his 10th year as an orthopedic surgeon and has successfully treated thousands of patients.

Dr. Albert is married to Dr. Ashley Albert, who is an accomplished cancer doctor who is specialized in radiation oncology at the Arizona Center for Cancer Care. When Dr. Albert isn’t at work, he loves spending time with his wife and his three young children. He especially enjoys outdoor activities and can often be found hiking, swimming in Arizona’s creeks and rivers (they do exist!), and playing soccer. He also enjoys grilling for friends and family and making anything sweet (pies, cakes, cookies, ice cream).

Dr. Albert also has a passion for volunteer work. He has done everything from making meals for the homeless to going on multiple mission trips in many different countries. He has volunteered as a physician at The Neighborhood Christian Clinic in Phoenix and is an active member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
